PTFE is high performance engineering speciality polymer. It has a unique position in the plastic industry due to its chemical inertness, Heat resistance, excellent electric insulation properties and low coefficient of friction.

 

GENERAL PROPERTIES :

PTFE is polymer which is extensively used in chemical, mechanical, electronic & electrical industries due to its unique characteristics.

Chemical inertness to all known chemicals, however attacked by molten alkali metals, chlorine, trifluorides, fluorine & related fluorine complexes at elevated temperature & pressure.

Resistance to solvents, insoluble in all solvents upto 260°C. Certain high fluorinated oils swell & dissolve PTFE at temperature close to crystalline melting point.

Wide operating temperature range -250°C to +260°C, at atmospheric pressure.

Lowest coefficient of friction among all known metals & nonmetals.

Non-toxic & antistick properties.

Neglible water absorption.

Non-flammable.

Resistance to radiations : electrical properties remain practically unchanged during & after irradiation, both in air & vacuum.

Excellent weathering resistance.

Outstanding electrical/insulating properties over wide frequency range.

Polyacetal is a thermoplastic polymer, which is produced by the polymerization of formaldehyde. It is a highly crystalline thermoplastic with characteristics such as high tensile strength, stiffness, low coefficient of friction and excellent dimensional stability.

Polyacetal offers resilience and creep resistance, natural lubricity and can be used under wide temperature range. It offers a unique combination of properties not available with metals or other plastics and can be used for machining into gears, bushes and other engineering components for appliance, electronic, automotive, textile machinery and other applications.

Nylon rods, sheets and profiles are manufactured using the Extrusion Technique and hence have excellent physical and Mechanical properties. Nylon offers good machineability for all types of metal working equipment including lathes grinders, millers and more. It is recommended to use sharp cutting tools, high machining speeds together with relatively slow feed.

Nylon rods and sheets are used in various industrial application including textile, railways, automobile, food processing, electrical and electronics, defence, appliance manufacturing industries and more.

Ultra High Molecular Weight Polyethylene
 

Ultra High Molecular Weight Polyethylene provides superior resistance to corrosion from chemicals and abrasive environments like sand and slurries when compared to other thermoplastics. It also offers exceptional impact resistance, even at cryogenic temperatures and is superior to stainless steel :

Important characteristics of UHMPWE include low moisture absorption, good electrical and thermal insulation, FDA acceptance for natural (virgin) grades, self-lubrication and chemical inertness (except in some acids).

In machined and fabricated part form, its uses include applications in material handling, agricultural, power transmission and food processing machines as well as in medical devices, shipping and recreational equipment. Some important uses are as wear strips, chain guides, chute and hopper linings, bushings and truck bed liners.
